Bug description:
Sometimes while using Unity, Unity becomes unable to find any
applications when I press Alt-F2. Instead, I get a blank black screen
and no matter what I type in the "Run a command" the little turning
circle that indicates that a search is in progress just goes on
indefinitely. If I click on the Home icon and "Internet Apps" or "More
Apps" etc., I similarly get a black screen without any apps.
If I go to a terminal and enter "unity," though, all my apps reappear.
