Taylor, David: Also, what messages does dnsmasq print in /var/log/syslog
when NM connects? E.g., in my case after connecting to my home LAN I
see:
Aug 30 13:09:24 foohost dnsmasq[2625]: setting upstream servers from DBus
Aug 30 13:09:24 foohost dnsmasq[2625]: using nameserver 192.168.1.254#53

This is with:

ii network-manager 0.9.6.0-0ubuntu5 [...]
$ ps -elf|grep dnsmasq

Title:
Domain names not resolved
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I'm currently unable to do anything online with Quantal after I restarted my
computer, I'm unable to resolve DNS. I know I have internet because I had the
IP address for OpenDNS's emergency page, and it worked fine. Unforutunately,
that's the only IP address webpage I know. So, I'm unable to connect to
anywhere on the internet or even update my computer. I tried disabling dnsmasq
by commenting out dns=dnsmasq in NetworkManager.conf, but it doesn't seem to be
working. I know there is nothing wrong with my internet because I'm able to use
the internet from same router using my ChromeOS Cr-48, which is what I'm using
to submit this bug.
This is a Critical bug, and I need a fix immediately, or I will be unable to
do most of the things I use my desktop computer for.
