No I cannot, at least not intentionally. It happened one other time shortly after Like I mentioned my system was idol while I was pre occupied with other things.
It looks like there was an update to glib2 since then (which may or may not had anything to do with it) and that has not happened since. I do check for updates every breakfast lunch and dinner. Always up to date :) However since then I have had other authorization issues affecting empathy and the desktop as I described in this report I just filed https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/accountsservice/+bug/1048192 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1042163 Title: empathy-auth-client crashed with SIGSEGV in magazine_chain_pop_head() Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This looks like its a duplicate of many including https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/806118 which had a fix released but might want to keep this open because its quantal alpha 3. Debug symbols should be included in my logs. I am not sure why/how this happened, I was playing my Wii when system update notifier appeared on my screen and right after that is when the crash happened. I'll attach valgrind.log for empathy-chat with this. --- Blair Chasteen ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: empathy 3.5.90-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-12.12-generic 3.5.2 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-12-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.5.1-0ubuntu2 Architecture: amd64 Date: Mon Aug 27 04:37:57 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/lib/empathy/empathy-auth-client InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Alpha amd64 (20120814.1) ProcCmdline: /usr/lib/empathy/empathy-auth-client ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SegvAnalysis: Segfault happened at: 0x7fabec8f9242 <g_slice_alloc+210>: mov 0x8(%rdx),%rbx PC (0x7fabec8f9242) ok source "0x8(%rdx)" (0x1bb078008) not located in a known VMA region (needed readable region)! destination "%rbx" ok SegvReason: reading unknown VMA Signal: 11 SourcePackage: empathy StacktraceTop: g_slice_alloc () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 g_list_prepend () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libglib-2.0.so.0 g_object_newv () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0 g_object_new_valist () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0 g_object_new () from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0 Title: empathy-auth-client crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slice_alloc() UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/1042163/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
