I see this behaviour on one of our 10.04.4 x86 clients. The share is located on a windows 2000 ad controller. The bug shows itself when single-clicking on the windows share bookmark.
Sometimes just waiting a few seconds and then clicking again on the bookmark makes the connection work. Other times there's no way of connecting to the share by using the bookmark. On those days the only way is using the File => Connect to server dialog box, which always works. So far this bug seems to affect only our single x86 10.04.4 client machine. A few days later you try and use the bookmark and you get this iffy behavior. Sometimes I've tried CTRL to open up the address bar and then typed in the share name i.e. "smb://server/share". It gives the same error. We have 4 laptops running Ubuntu 10.10 on a lan in workgroup WORKGROUP and we all seem to suffer from this intermittent error.
