This is a side effect of bug 732997 in compiz. I'm hoping it will get
fixed there, but I can try to do a workaround if not.

Title:
  deja-dup hides authentication window

Status in Déjà Dup Backup Tool:
  Triaged
Status in “deja-dup” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I'm using deja-dup to store encrypted backup to a CIFS share. The first run
was just fine. However, every new run fails after some time (you see the
program in the taskbar, but no progress). The reason is that the authentication
window is simply unvisible, asking for CIFS credentials.
It's visible for a split second when I log out, so it's there, but hidden
somehow.
