Also, to add to this I have now noticed that no matter what only two entries are allowed. If a new spammer contacts me and I try to block them the other entries (I had about 4) are erased.
It's pretty messy since they seem to notice that suddenly I am available and then contact me again...eeeek! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1050974 Title: When 'Contact->Block contact' is used, other block-user entries are erased Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I discovered a strange bug in Empathy (it could have already been repaired though). Useful information: * Empathy starts up automatically when I log in * Most of the time is starts as Unavailable or Away (I think it restores the last state) * MSN chat Problem: Here's what happens * Get contacted by a spammer * Open Blocked Contacts list * Click on the window to view spam * Choose Contact->Block contact from chat window It actually erases (usually) one or two other entries in the Blocked Contacts that were already there. Thus I end up getting contacted from other spammers. I couldn't figure out what was going on for the longest time until I saw that. If I add them manually to the Blocked Contacts list it seems fine. Sorry I realize it's a bizaro issue to report but there you have it.
