I am able to reproduce this on Ubuntu 12.04 / brasero 3.4.1-0ubuntu1. I discovered an odd workaround though; if you open the copy dialog before inserting the disc, it will be automatically selected and you can copy it without problems. Why this would work differently than if the disc is inserted before opening the dialog, I don't know.
