In applications with more than one window (like Gimp) the global menu is
missing on any but the main window. If some other window (like a
toolbox) is active, the global menu and also the HUD are missing. Also
the main window becomes inactive after doing some operations in Gimp
(e.g. sharpen the picture). This way it is very cumbersome to work with
Gimp.
