A 500 error is related to a problem on the webservers that software-
center integrates with but this does not appear to be a bug affecting
the software-center package itself.

I will bring this to the attention of the appropriate person so we can
get this resolved.

Bug description:
  When I click 'Buy' button and log in, I am directed to the following
  page:

  Server Error (500)

  An error occurred which prevented the page you requested from loading.
  If this problem continues, please consider reporting this problem by
  sending an e-mail to webmas...@canonical.com

  I tried writing to the e-mail address but it seems that nobody checks
  it.

  The same thing happens in Firefox when I try to redeem my Humble
  Bundle games.
