3g modem that works with 12.04 and older causes crashes and freezes in
12.10

Modem:
ID 0af0:6971 Option Globetrotter HSDPA Modem
Is sometimes detected by network manager and sometimes not.
Sometimes causes crashes (like the one attached) and sometimes even complete
freezes that make me hard reboot.
Never yet made a successful connect.

Which doesn't look to bad (its a sim card of the network provider "3" in the
