We kind of know what's up, there's an issue with allowing password-less
certificates, and there's definitely an extension missing that should be
allowed.

I can fix it in two passes; it should be simple enough to enable the
extra .key extension, and fixing password-less certificates can be dealt
with as a separate bug (I'm certain there is at least one, if not many,
already open).

Title:
Unable to login on WIFI using TLS certificate

Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
Trying to login on my wireless network using WPA2 enterprise + TLS
doesn't seem to work because of two UI issues:

  1) I'm unable to select a .key file as my private key (workaround is to
rename it to .pem)
  2) Even once everything is selected, the UI won't let me click Save
