Title:
file-roller crashes when using --extract-to option
Status in “file-roller” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Running file-roller with any value provided for the --extract-to
option (whether that value is a valid and writable path, a valid but
non-writable path (like /root, when I'm not running as root), or an
invalid path), causes a crash. The crash happens before any files or
directories are written.
I encountered this specific crash when using the right-click, "Extract
Here" option on a zip file in Thunar, xfce's file manager. When doing
that, Thunar calls file-roller with command line options like
"--extract-to=/home/myusername/Desktop --extract-here --force
Filename.zip".
However, the --extract-here and --force options do not by themselves
seem to cause any problem, and they are not required for the
--extract-to option to cause a crash.
I'm running a fully updated Ubuntu 12.10 beta with file-roller
3.5.92-0ubuntu1 and (not that it matters, but) thunar 1.4.0-1ubuntu2.
