1. Switch to a guest session. What happens: * The messaging menu appears. (Previously reported as bug 1046331.) * The menu title has a green dot on it, and the menu shows your status as "Available". * Inside the menu, Empathy is shown as running. What should happen: * The menu should not appear at all, because no chat applications are running. This is extremely confusing. Even if you did launch Empathy, the chat status section still should not appear, because you have no chat accounts set up yet. And it definitely shouldn't show non-existent accounts as being "Available". [Originally mentioned in OMG Ubuntu on 2012-09-19: "Where no chat accounts are enabled you’ll still be stuck with an annoying green dot (to denote ‘online)." <http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/09/messaging- menu-update-adds-remove-option-new-status-icons>] ** Affects: telepathy-indicator Importance: High Status: New ** Affects: telepathy-indicator (Ubuntu) Importance: High Assignee: Lars Uebernickel (larsu) Status: Confirmed -- Default Ubuntu session shows Empathy with "Available" state https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1056457 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to telepathy-indicator in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
