Title:
gdm crashed with signal 5 in __libc_start_main()
Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Specs: Ubuntu 12.10, gnome shell, gdm, nvidia optimus.
I presume that this bug report is related to the issues described
below because it occured right after I was finaly able to log into
gnome-shell after experiencing problems (presumably with gdm).
System start got stuck stuck before it showed login screen every time
I started the computer. That started after the updates on 26th of
september and was fixed on 27th with fixes to gnome session (at least
reverted to the former error - the system freezes completely form time
to time on startup but after a few restarts you can still get it to
boot - and I noticed that if I press alt + ctrl + f2 and wait for the
load in console it starts up correctly but with a different login
screen).
The changes that I have made to gdm settings were there because I was
trying to boot up ubumtu on 26th and was trying to enable more logging
but it did not change anything (that I know of).
