This should have been fixed in xserver-xorg-video-intel >= 2.20 which is
in quantal now, please reopen the bug by changing the status back to
confirmed if it's still a problem.

Bug description:
Follow-up of bug #930807 due to upgrade to Quantal 12.10
Happened twice today, when I was working with a virtual machine (vmplayer
4.0.3 build-703057). Both occured when vmplayer was in background, but active.
The second crash pinned X to 100% CPU and made it necessary to kill the session
rather than log out, restart X, and log in again.
