Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal (Radeon)
Follow the steps below and the issue can be reproduced:
Drag a folder icon from desktop
Drop it into trash
Observe:
The folder icon appears on desktop even after the drop into trash and a
single click on desktop disappears the icon from desktop.
