Public bug reported:

1) Using 7px emblems on an already small icon needs to be reconsidered.

2) Using a single icon to indicate new messages vs chat status is a
challenge.

We would like to explore an icon set which is more functional in terms
of communicating, and better adheres to the intended aesthetic.

A couple of early ideas:
- make use of the mono status icons that were used in the 10.04 (and 10.10?) Me
Menu.
- Experiment with bigger emblems to create a clearer overlap.

Factors to consider:
- accessbility shape vs colour
- size
- consistency between the title icons and the standalone status icons
- visual style and theme of Ubuntu
