This is caused by incorrect configuration, I think that thunar used to
ship wrong mime handlers, if you weren't using thunar, try removing your
~/.local/share/applications (backup first of course).

Title:
Activating an item in the files lens opens its parent folder and not
the file.

Bug description:
Whenever I activate a file in the files lens, Nautilus is opened on
the files parent directory. This is the same whether I press enter
when the first choice is appropriate, select an entry and press enter
or click it with the mouse. It happens in both Unity and Unity 2D. If
I open a guest session, I can not reproduce that behaviour and file is
opened as it should.
I have obviously not intended for this to happen, so it must be a
side effect of something, and since it only happens to my user, it
must have something to do with my personal data, meaning that it's
difficult to fix or even identify the cause.
