As this is not a system monitor bug, I am moving the system monitor package from the affects list to affect Ubuntu, that was having more chance to get triaged.
** Package changed: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) => ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-system-monitor in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1057688 Title: exorbitant memory usage Status in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hello, I want to thank you for this problem and notificaros: I have noticed for a while strange behavior and unnecessary memory usage on Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty) Desktop amd64, Gnome and Unity, exorbitant memory usage with peaks over 1gb and 400 to 900 mb consumption rising gradually to reach this amount of use in which the 400mb reset until immediately afterwards to go back up again little by little, so consecutively.Y it shows that the system slows down.It happens even at rest the team. I can confirm that it is not, an error of level graphics hardware or both AMD / ATI both nvidia. So either driver is not to blame. I think there are more people affected by the same cause, people whom I have facilitated this same distribution Ubuntu, is appreciated, the attempt to settle it and is very important for the proper functioning.
