Sorry, I've changed my OS into pure Ubuntu 12.04, but I'm still running
Mate. The video was taken under these conditions, not under Mint - what
means the bug is exactly the same under both distros.

** Description changed:

I've set empathy to hide offline contacts. Although, when someone that's
online go offline, the contact stay there, but as Offline. Changing
"Hide offline contacts" option doesn't affect this. They only vanish if
  I restart the app.

- I'm running Empathy 3.4.2.3 under Mint 13 with MATE 1.2.
+ I've tested Empathy 3.4.2.3 under Ubuntu 12.04 with Mate 1.4 and Mint 13
+ (which is based on Ubuntu 12.04) with MATE 1.2 .
