Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

** Visibility changed to: Public

** This bug is no longer flagged as a security vulnerability

Title:
empathy gmail authentication redirects my browser to
  http://www.mardy.it ?

Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When I start Empathy, I get a message that I failed to connect to the
Google services with my gmail ID. When I click the "reconnect"
button, my browser OPENS A WEB PAGE FOR
  http://www.mardy.it/oauth2callback?cod... which says

  "Authentication completed.
  Please close this window."

Why is my communication with some site in Italy owned by Alberto
Mardegan, and not directly with Google?
