As X is started for each user, control can be returned to the actual
machine by killing that particular X session via SSH once the user has
attempted to log out.

ALL input via the keyboard and mouse is completely ignored until X is
killed. Even the CAPS LOCK button doesn't work.

I cannot find anything in any of the logs that suggest there has ever
been a problem. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place?

I have no idea why this has been sent to the fglrx queue.

Title:
  Xorg freeze when logging out

Status in “fglrx-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I use two accounts on my computer.
1000 - My main, useful account.
1001 - For testing without messing up my settings on 1000.
I always log in 1000 first and log in a second time with 1001.

When I first start the computer I can log in and out multiple times
  without any problems (I've tried).

After using the computer for an amount of time it starts getting a bit
slow and clunky, partly thanks to the amount of stuff that gets pushed
to swap, and partly thanks to another bug which means I have to start
  Unity over and over.

To try and reduce the memory footprint I log UID 1000 out. Wonderfully
this is not successful and I end up staring at the background image
for UID 1000's profile and nothing else. The mouse and the keyboard
become completely useless. Even the NUM LOCK light cannot be switched
  off.

CTRL+ALT+Backspace and CTRL+ALT+DEL do nothing, but that's because the
  keyboard does nothing.

The only solution is SSH in from my phone and force a reboot (or a
halt when I get sick of it).

I cannot see anything in the logs about a crash but then I don't know
where I should be looking or what I should be looking for.

This didn't happen in Natty but it's been a while since I used UID
1001, and I cannot remember the last time I logged out UID 1000 while
using it. I definitely cannot pinpoint when this started to occur.
