Simple scan 3.4.1 crashes frequently (often every other scan) in
Ubuntu 12.04 (64-bit).

Bug description:
If the scan doesn't cause simple-scan to crash, it will show "scan
failed" or "scanner not found" on the next attempted scan. I usually
have to unplug the USB scanner cable, and replug before I can open
simple-scan and scan a second document.
