Title:
  rendering pdf converted from ps

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
I find that when evince opens certain pdf files most of the contents
are blank while Okular can display these same files with no problem.
For example, the pdf version of this file
  http://arxiv.org/abs/0909.4561

With more experimentations it seems that that problem only happens
with pdf files which have been converted from postscripts. For
example, in the link above, evince could display the .ps version of
the article, but if convert it to .pdf (with ps2pdf) and try to open
it with evince again, one gets the same garbled display same as what
happened when one download the pdf file from the link and open it with
evince. I cannot be sure, but it seems that all the pdf files I have
had problems were converted from ps files (downloaded from academic
sites which always have a ps version) Again Okular displays all these
  files with no issue.

  Ubuntu version 11.04, evince 2.32.0
