After reboot and login, my desktop initially displayed then a slow black screen wash happened from top to bottom. I waited several seconds and eventually the desktop came back with no panel or launcher. I received a crash popup and tried to send it, but the crash reporting process never completed. I was able to restart X and login using the 2d desktop.
