Title:
[SB-XFi - Creative X-Fi, playback] Sound is distorted

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I have a sound problem since 12.04 x64 release.

After booting the system everything is normal until the first sound
event (with any software). After the first sound event I hear a big
noise. I can switch it off by muting my input microphone settings. But
then I can't use the microphone.

In 12.10 x64 sometimes I have sound corruption for 3-7 seconds and for
  now I have no workaround.

  Updates are the latest.
