  More info
  Realtek ALC888, sound work well, but no mic (mic1 & mic2) or line in works.
  Alsa seems to be working well:
  - alsamixer allows to activate the mic in the reroduction tab and you can
hear the mic throw the speakers. Mic volumen is reflected in pulseaudio
controls when is raised/lowered.
  - arecord works. The next command works:
  $ arecord -Dplughw:0,2 test.wav
  In the test.wav file you can hear the mic working.

  Pulseaudio apps shows mic1, mic2 and line in, but none works.
  Adjusting the volumen has no effect. The volumen indicators doesn't
  work and is always fixed.

  Pulseaudio dependant apps don't gets any sound from the mic: gnome-
  sound-recorder or skype don't receive any sound form the mic (I guess
  from pulseaudio).

  I've updated alsa as indicated in
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules and it
  didn't work.

  This bug affects also to ubuntu 10.04
