The displayport output is physically connected to only the nvidia GPU on
this generation of lenovo machines with optimus, you'll have to switch
to the nvidia gpu in the bios to use it unfortunately.

Using an Intel HD Graphics 3000, I cannot have an external DisplayPort
display recognized. The displays dialog won't pick it up, and neither
will xrandr.
