proposed, instructions on how to install it before it goes into precise-
updates and is installed automatically are on bug 966744

[i965] Resume from suspend leaves me with black screen or a screen of the
desktop before it suspended. Compiz hung in intel_update_renderbuffers() from
intel_prepare_render() from brw_draw_prims()

Screen goes black after lid closed

Bug description:
After a few hours of leaving laptop charging with closed lid screen
goes black with pointer still visible(and moving along with the
mouse/trackpad/trackpoint movements). Switching to the
console(Ctrl+Alt+F1) and back(Ctrl+Alt+F7) leaves the background from
last console and shows only the pointer.
Killing(Ctrl+Alt+Backspace) Xserver woks to restore full
functionality.
This is consistently reoccuring with:
