I originally wrote this bug report... I just updated yesterday to the latest Google Chrome update on my Ubuntu 12.04. Google chrome exhibits the same behavior...
(1) When I click on the radio button [Other Bookmarks] the browser and OS hangs up (and dims) for about 5 seconds and then recovers. I can then browse down the drop window and click on my bookmarks... (2) When I click on the 3 horizontal bars, a drop down window appears.
