Title:
Closed windows appear as phantom desktop overlay

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I'm running Quantal development release up to date. Sometimes
application windows that I close appear to be still open, but it's an
'image overlay' on the desktop (on all desktop spaces). I'm including
a snapshot as this doesn't make a lot of sense.

Basically, it looks like the application window is still there, but
it's not. In the attached picture, I am showing all desktop spaces
and it appears that a chrome browse window with a google search is
present in all of them... but there is no open browser window anywhere
and clicking on any of them does nothing. Also, I can open new browser
windows that work fine, so it's not a chrome problem. I have seen the
same behaviour with other applications than chrome so I believe it's
  not app specific.
