Sorry, but it was a customers pc, I can not re-create error at the
moment. However, did you have access to another wireless network at the
same time?

It would flash up trying to connect ... then immediately connect to another
working network, due to the password being wrong, and it did not ask for another
password.
Also, to edit a connection ... you need to select it ... and as soon as you do,
it tries to connect to it , can't (because password incorrect) and then
switches to a previously working connection on another router.

Please note, if I had access to the other routers to disable them , I
would have done.

I suggest you set up 2 routers , connect it to both ... then change the
password on one of the routers. Then try to edit the connection. You
should then see what I saw.

Alternative would be to STOP the computer from trying a connection as
soon as you select it to edit it. Perhaps it should only try the
connection after the user clicks apply/ok.

Hope this helps.

incorrect
To: <[email protected]>

Please open the connection edit dialog in the network menu, find the
connection and edit it.

Also for me, I get asked for a new password if the one saved is not
correct. Would you be able to attach a couple of screenshot to describe
the issue better?

Title:
can not edit wireless setting when password incorrect

Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hi,
Changed a customers password on router but on the PC the "network settings"
box wont let me select the wireless network to change the password. I select
the network from the list and It states its disconnected because the password
is wrong. Then it defaulted back to another network so I cant click the
"Options..." button to change any settings/password. Shouldn't there be a way
to select the network and edit settings without it having to connect first ?
