I'm assuming this was morked wontfix because oo was dropped. Does the issue effect libreoffice the same way?

For example, try using the "high contrast, inverted" color scheme. Go to "Format Cell" and the color is set there, but you don't see it on the spreadsheet. Cell background colors should be shown regardless of color scheme type.
