According to http://www.winischhofer.net/linuxsispart1.shtml (the maintainer of the Xorg sis driver) the SiS76x is a 330 series chip. Adding "blacklist sis" to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf (stated as workaround) does not resolve the problem. Blank screen + mouse cursor keeps popping on and off .... Xrandr not usable... "can't open display" I'm stuck on how to proceed after blacklisting.
