#9 was informative, but not quite sure how it relates to the context of
this report.

I'm not sure where in the link there was something for me to apply to
this filed bug.

I updated the following lines to alsa-base config and rebooted:

    options snd-intel8x0 index=0
    options snd-hda-intel index=1 model=auto

After reboot, I ran alsamixer:

%>  alsamixer

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory

What should I be trying or supplying in this ticket in order to facilitate the 
information required for the group, other than what has already been 
supplied, in order to categorise and assess this bug ?
