Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu (and Mozilla Firefox) since that time you reported the
bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It
would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu
version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the
updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that
are relevant for this particular issue.

Title:
Searchbar uses "wrong" (not expected) google domain

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Hi!

I live in Latvia, my mother tongue is Russian, so the Ubuntu language is
Russian and timezone Riga (Latvia).
When I search something through the searchbar google.com is used - but I
expect google.lv. The google language is correctly Russian but the country
domain is not detected, so I consider it as a bug.

As a workaraung I've installed addon from http://mycroft.mozdev.org
  /google-search-plugins.html

  Ubuntu 11.04, Firefox 6.0.2
