I use album artist and plugin rhythmbox-fileorganizer. https://launchpad.net/rb-fileorganizer
With multi artist albums I use "various" as the album artist and when organised files can be set to use album artist if existing and then artist as a fallback. I haven't updated it in a while but if documented a bit more it would be okay. Don't have an iPod so I can't comment on that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228422 Title: Rhythmbox doesn't deal sanely with multiple artist CDs Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: Confirmed Status in The Rhythmbox Music Management Application: Confirmed Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Hardy, rhythmbox 0.11.5-0ubuntu6 Trying to rip a CD using rhythmbox with multiple artists on will cause rhythmbox to stick each artist in its own directory. There is no option to keep the entire CD together. This makes rhythmbox unsuitable for ripping compilation CDs.
