Comment from the developer: "I don't see why ctrl-w should close the window when ctrl-q already exists and rhythmbox is not a multi-window application."
The developer will be unwilling to implement a patch for this upstream, meaning if we fix this we will have to maintain the patch in Ubuntu, which is a course of action that should only be followed as a last resort for serious issues. Ctrl+W is used to close a single window of a multi-window application and Ctrl+Q is supposed to quit the application altogether. Rhythmbox is a single window application and in that case Ctrl+Q is doing what it should and Ctrl+W is redundant, so is not implemented. As such I'm going to close this report. ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Status: Triaged => Invalid ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Assignee: Papercuts Ninja (papercuts-ninja) => (unassigned) ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Milestone: raring-round-1 => None ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Importance: Low => Undecided -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/875176 Title: Pressing Ctrl+W fails to close Rhythmbox window Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: Invalid Status in “rhythmbox” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: OS: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric stable Application: Rhythmbox 2.90.1 Pressing the X button in the corner works.
