Just bought this laptop. Making network boot the first option does not
prevent freezes.

None of the workarounds offered for this bug seem to be working on the
present system.

Bug description:
  1) Ubuntu 11.10
  2) Privative drivers of AMD graphic card (from repos)

  I just installed Ubuntu 11.10 in my laptop and update all software (apt-get 
upgrade). I installed privative drivers for the graphic card included, when I 
boot it for the first time, I see a watermark of AMD saying that my hardware is 
not supported but work fine. When I reboot the pc, I don't see the watermark 
but always my pc will freezes.

  My computer is Acer ao 722-C62kk with specific hardware:

  AMD APU C-60
  AMD Radeon HD 6290 Graphics
