The spacebar in Nautilus now previews files. You'll need to install gnome-sushi for this to work.
http://library.gnome.org/users/gnome-help/stable/files-preview.html Since this is a decision of GNOME developers and designers, you'll need to talk to them if you think this behavior should be different. ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Status: New => Invalid ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1067487 Title: Spacebar no longer opens files in nautilus Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: Invalid Status in Nautilus: New Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Upgrading from 11.04 to 12.04 I had found that the spacebar had stopped functioning to open a file in nautilus. At first, I had thought this a bug, as other things had not been working properly either. I then ran across this bug report that (quite coincidently) "fixed" the "bug" that the spacebar opens files. https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/431073 It was not a bug, but it was a feature that I myself and other people (see http://askubuntu.com/questions/100557/spacebar-not-launching- application-open-file) have used quite frequently. It would be great to have this fixed (with an option to disable the feature in the nautilus preferences) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1067487/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
