Gnome network manager does not accept passwords on Return
Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When the network manager applet re-asks for a WiFi password, the
dialog pops up and the password field is focused so that you can type
in your password.
However, you cannot press Return to confirm, but have to click
"Connect" manually.
I suggest setting the default action for Return in the password field
to connect.
