  Network Manager applet not in tray, nm-applet died

Bug description:
  After a few months without issue, the Network Manager applet has
  suddenly disappeared from the tray not long after booting into Ubuntu.
  I am filing this bug report based upon the instructions provided for
  bug #43379.
