Title:
Display memory is not cleared on reboot

Status in “nvidia-graphics-drivers” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
OK, I'll admit I've had a SWAG at the package involved here, but this
seems like the most likely candidate.

When Update Manager tells me the computer needs to be restarted to
complete updates, I systematically work through my workspaces closing
any applications, saving work and generally making sure that I'm not
going to lose anything. Finally, when Update Manager is the only
application left, I click the Restart Now button and reboot. After
authenticating, as my session is starting, I see artefacts on the
screen of applications I was running prior to the reboot - see
  attachment.
