you could type in a terminal:

dpkg -l | grep yelp

or

apt-cache policy yelp

to view the version of the program installed.

  yelp --help not showing --version option

Status in “yelp” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When running "yelp --help" or "yelp --help-all", there was not an
  indication of the "yelp --version" (which was what I was looking for).
