Public bug reported:

Description:
Nautilus allows you to bookmark both mounted destinations and network shares.
Nautilus chooses a name based on the actual folder, but other dialogs, as the
file selector, shows the bookmark as a truncated path. Same result if you
rename the bookmark.

What I expect:
Consistent naming on both Nautilus and file selectors.

What I get:
Some times the bookmark honors the naming on Nautilus, sometimes get listed as
a path, and sometimes it is not listed at all.

To reproduce:
Open Nautilus and navigate to a shared network folder.
Bookmark the folder.
Open Gedit.
Select "Open"
The dialog shows the bookmark as a path instead of the name given on Nautilus.

GTK+2 seems to plain ignore this kind of bookmarks (as stated on bug
#1061600).
