Title:
no timestamp preservation on gnome-vfs CIFS mount in Jaunty alpha 2

Status in “gnome-vfs” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  baldridgeec@baldridgeec:~$ cp -p /etc/hosts /home/baldridgeec/.gvfs/jobs\ on\
sdsnas004/
cp: preserving times for `/home/baldridgeec/.gvfs/jobs on sdsnas004/hosts':
Operation not supported

I originally thought this was a bug in samba, but timestamp
preservation works if the same share is mounted directly and I sudo cp
-p. The copy as normal user doesn't preserve timestamps in either case
  though.

  2.6.28-3-generic #4-Ubuntu SMP
  Jaunty alpha-2
