I am using 64 bit 12.10 Precise. Previously (64 bit 12.04) I had a similar problem which was resolved (unsure how but I suspect through regular s/w updates). The problem has reemerged and is particularly bad when using PDF files created with a scanner. The current problem results in my printer (Brother HL-3070CW) telling me I haven't got enough memory to print.
I loaded Okular and it prints all PDF files as expected. I have no other printing issues with Precise 12.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/891043 Title: evince does not print PDF document correctly Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: 1. Using Ubuntu 11.10, 2. Evince reports version 3.2.1 "Document Viewer Using poppler/cairo (0.16.7)" 3. I try to print a PDF document in my Brother HL-5250DN, through Evince. 4. Instead of having the document printed, I have a blank page with a gray rectangle saying: ERROR NAME; Undefined COMMAND; Copyright OPERAND STACK; This does only happen when trying to print from evince, not from LibreOffice, for example. Also, it normally happens when trying to print a document with some kind of image (a photo, an institution logo, etc.). Cups reports version 1.5.0 through its web interface. It does correctly reports a "Brother HL-5250DN series" printer attached. Driver: Brother HL-5250DN BR-Script3 , Postscript-Brother 20101122 (OpenPrinting LSB 3.2) (grayscale, 2-sided printing) Anyway, as I said this problem does only happen with Evince.
