How to reproduce:

Press ALT (or whatever your Ubuntu HUD button is). Type "label" (no
quotes)

What should happen:

Insert > label should be offered in the HUD.

What does happen:

Nothing is offered in the HUD. However, mousing over the Insert menu,
the menu "shows up" and the lettering goes from gray to white (it's as
if it's being loaded then and there). After that, repeating the step
above creates the desired response.

Remark:

This is true for other commands, not just "insert label".
