Title:
[3680PGG, Conexant CX20585, Speaker, Internal] Playback problem.
Internal speakers of my ThinkPad x201 do not work in 12.04

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This week the internal speakers of my ThinkPad x201 stopped working.
  Headphones still work well.

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/PositionReporting proposes to add
  options snd-hda-intel position_fix=2
  to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

This fixed the issue. As suggested I still file this bug report.

Note: I run ubuntu-bug audio after the issue was resolved.
