Title: Graphics driver problem repeatedly causes OS to fail Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I don't know if xorg causes the problem, but I have endeed up finding 'xdiagnose' when searching using the term 'repair' from the Dash on a live Ubuntu 12.10 DVD. Right at this instant my computer is running from the live DVD. This may affect the Apport data that accompanies this bug report. This problem has now occurred twice on Ubuntu 12.10 and caused the situation where I am not able to boot up the computer. I get an error message along the lines of 'Your computer (is being run, or something) in low-graphics mode, etc. I have tried all the options but they don't seem to do anything. I think that the first time (that I remember that) it occurred was after I had upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 12.10 several weeks ago.
